Donor Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026.

Thank you for supporting APREM’s work in Morisseau, L’Asile, Haiti. This policy explains how general and project-designated gifts, acknowledgments, recurring gifts and payment inquiries are handled. For information about personal data, read our Privacy Policy.

General and project designated giving

A general donation supports APREM’s mission and the program and operating needs described in its approved fundraising materials. A project-designated donation is identified for the selected project and recorded accordingly.

If a designated project cannot proceed as described, or receives more funding than its approved need, APREM will explain the situation and seek donor instructions before using the restricted gift for a different purpose, unless a different lawful arrangement was clearly disclosed and accepted when the gift was made. Contact info@apremhaiti.org with questions about a designation.

Payment channels and receipts

Use only payment links and recipient details published through APREM’s verified channels. The email info@apremhaiti.org is a contact address; it is not a Zelle recipient or payment destination unless APREM explicitly identifies and verifies it as such.

A general donation does not include event admission. Ticket purchases and sponsorship packages may involve goods, services or benefits and are documented separately. An order confirmation or payment receipt alone does not establish that a payment is tax deductible. Ask APREM for the relevant organization and acknowledgment information and obtain independent advice about your own tax treatment.

Payment mistakes and refund requests

If you believe a donation was duplicated, entered incorrectly or made without authorization, contact info@apremhaiti.org promptly with the date, amount and transaction reference. Do not email full payment credentials. We will review the request and coordinate with the relevant provider where appropriate. Contact your financial institution promptly if you suspect an unauthorized transaction.

A refund is not guaranteed by submitting a request. Its availability depends on the circumstances, applicable law and the payment provider’s process. Event cancellation, ticket refund and transfer terms are disclosed separately before ticket purchase. Any fee treatment must be explained before an approved refund is processed.

Recurring gifts

Where recurring giving is offered, the frequency, amount and cancellation method will be displayed before enrollment. Cancellation stops future scheduled gifts after it takes effect; it does not automatically reverse completed payments. Use the provider’s subscription controls or contact info@apremhaiti.org for assistance.

Donor recognition and anonymity

Public donor recognition is optional. We will request permission before publishing your name, donation amount, photograph or testimonial as donor recognition. Choosing public anonymity does not prevent APREM or a payment provider from retaining information needed to process and document the gift.

Tell us if you want to change a recognition preference. We can address content under APREM’s control; we cannot guarantee removal of copies already distributed by others.

Questions about a contribution
